In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a swift response by Estcourt police led to the arrest of three suspects aged between 24 and 39 and the recovery of three vehicles in the Estcourt policing precinct.
On Tuesday night 11.30pm, a truck driver was driving along the N3 freeway in the Colenso policing precinct transporting eight vehicles when he was allegedly hijacked by unknown armed suspects traveling in a VW Polo.
They allegedly removed four vehicles at gunpoint and sped off.
A case of hijacking was opened at Colenso police station and assigned to the Ladysmith Vehicle Identification Unit for investigation.

Three vehicles including the suspects’ vehicle were recovered and two of the four stolen vehicles are still sought by police.
The suspects appeared in the Colenso Magistrates Court on Thursday.
