Estcourt police made yet another breakthrough in the car hijacking syndicate when they recovered a third vehicle, a Toyota Prado, yesterday (Thursday) in the Bhekizulu area.

On Tuesday this week, three suspects approached a truck driver who was travelling along the N3 near Colenso, transporting eight vehicles.
They allegedly removed four vehicles at gunpoint and sped off.
Estcourt police arrested the three suspects early on Wednesday morning, and recovered two of the stolen vehicles including the suspects’ vehicle.
The duo appeared in the Colenso Magistrate’s Court yesterday. A case of hijacking is still being investigated by the Ladysmith Vehicle Identification Unit for investigation.
