
Two men were shot and killed in the Waaihoek area of Ezakheni early on Tuesday morning (August 21).
The deceased, aged 24 and 46, were ambushed while seated around a fire. They sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
It is alleged that conflict between the Lushaba, Mvelase and Nkosi clans is at the heart of the faction fighting.

Hearing what sounded like a Wild West gunfight, a community member who lives nearby rushed out to investigate. Her initial fear was that schoolchildren had been shot.
She discovered men lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.
A large crowd gathered, and a family relative fainted as she walked towards the scene.
Concerned community and family members sat in the bush while police and forensic personnel went about combing the scene.
Officers attending to the crime extended their search of the crime scene, which resulted in the recovery of a .303 rifle as well as ammunition. The rifle had been stashed in a donga.
The recovered firearm will be sent for ballistic testing.
Ezakheni detectives are investigating a case of murder.
