Officers from the Ladysmith Detective Tracing Team and K9 Unit arrested a 47-year-old suspect on Wednesday (August 22) in connection with stolen and hijacked vehicles recovered in Ladysmith the previous week.
This is the third arrest in the case.
In the early hours of Monday, August 13, Ladysmith police acted on information about a vehicle that was traced by the tracking company in the Ezakheni area.
Officers from Ladysmith Visible Policing and the K9 Unit rushed out to the Mansibilayo area, where they were joined a short while later by officers from the Zululand SAPS Cluster Task Team and Vryheid K9 Unit.

These officers were hot on the heels of suspects who had committed a robbery in the Mondlo area of Vryheid on Sunday, August 12.
During the operation, two suspects were arrested and five vehicles, including a truck with two trailers and other stripped vehicles, were recovered.
The third suspect who was arrested faces a charge of house robbery. Detectives are confident that he will be linked to other cases.
