Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS) championed by the Mayor Councillor Jabulile Mbele visited ward 17 at the Emahhashini grounds to host a programme themed ‘Celebration of women and fight against crime, poverty and illness’.

The event was hosted to urge women to report abuse and to also render government services to the community.
Councillor Edith Lite emphasised that women need to say NO to abuse. She added that government is committed to empowering females and assisting them in reaching their highest potential aside from their traditional roles of being a mother, wife and caregiver.
