Community members brutally assault and kill alleged suspect near Ladysmith

Police are investigating a charge of murder after a man was severely assaulted in the Peacetown area on Monday (September 24).

It is alleged that the man was accused of committing a crime in the area.

Members of the community took the law into their own hands and viciously attacked the alleged criminal, who later passed away in hospital.

No one has been arrested at this stage, say police.

The deceased has been identified as Siyabonga Siplelele Mkhwanazi (22).
