Housebreakers busted, stolen property recovered by Ladysmith detectives

Two housebreaking suspects have been arrested by Ladysmith detectives.

During July this year, a residential premises in the Ezitendeni area of Steadville was broken into.

Several items, including a television and DVD player, were stolen during the incident.

Local detective Sergeant Mabaso was tasked with the investigation of the case docket and left no stone unturned. With assistance from Constable Zwane and Dube, they arrested the suspect and recovered some of the stolen items.

During August, another residential premises was broken into, this time in the Tsakane area of Steadville, where electronic equipment was stolen.

Thorough detective work resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the stolen property in the Madadeni area.

Both suspects, aged 31 and 24, made an appearance in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court on Monday (October 15), facing charges of theft and housebreaking with intent to steal.
