"It’s skin was still very red and looked as though it had not developed fully."

“We were contacted and arrived on scene to find a tiny baby about the size of a 1 litre bottle. It’s skin was still very red and looked as though it had not developed fully.

We then contacted the state mortuary vehicle and opened an inquest docket,” said Officer Masuku,

The community member is said to have called other members of the public to come and confirm that his eyes were not deceiving him and that what he had found was indeed an underdeveloped human being.

Officer Masuku was among the team that was called out to attend the scene. It is currently unclear whether the foetus was dumped after a botched abortion or a miscarriage.
