Editor’s Note 2018

The Newcastle Advertiser's editor takes a look back at 2018.

Dear readers,

Another year has come and (almost) gone, and many of you are gearing up to have a well-deserved break this festive season.

Within the Newcastle Advertiser, we have seen many changes this year and are excited for more to come. We are delighted with our digital growth, and encourage you to follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to keep abreast of local news, events and much more.

Each year, we reflect on the time past and wonder how we could have done things differently, or even better. At the beginning of a year, many of us make a plethora of resolutions that all too often fall by the wayside as we get on with our daily business of work or school.

I hope, as you look back at 2018, you have no regrets and will commit to making 2019 more memorable.

This year is ending with a bittersweet farewell to Zianne Leibrandt and F.C. Pelser, two dedicated and talented journalists. They have become household names in their tenure at the Advertiser – we wish them well on their new journey, and have no doubt they will continue to make a difference in Newcastle.

To you – our readers. A serious, loyal readership is our most precious asset. Thank you for your support this year, and we look forward to you continuing to grow with us in 2019!

Have a wonderful and blessed festive season. Look after each other and for those travelling, keep safe on the roads.
