Police are currently searching for the parents of a baby who was abandoned in town.
The one-week-old baby boy was found at The Oval Shopping Centre on Monday (January 7) by a caretaker in the ablution block.
The baby was wrapped in a yellow blanket.
Ladysmith SAPS officers attended the scene and the baby was taken to hospital for a medical examination.
He was found to be healthy and is currently in a place of safety.
The Ladysmith Family Violence, Child Protection & Sexual Offences Unit is now appealing to the community of Ladysmith and surrounding areas for assistance in locating the parents.
