Update: Van Reenen’s Pass clear and open for traffic, despite 2 trucks burnt during protest

The N3 is currently incident-free and traffic is flowing smoothly

Van Reenen’s Pass is currently open for traffic after all lanes (both north- and southbound) were blocked last night (January 13) by truckers.

Officials worked tirelessly throughout the night to move the trucks that were blocking the N3.

Two trucks were set alight during the protest, with the fire department responding to put out the blaze.

Traffic had to be diverted onto the N11 and at the Bergville interchange.

The N3 is currently incident-free and traffic is flowing smoothly.
