Update: Kidnapping case postponed to February 18

Six accused of kidnapping out on extended bail.

Five men and a woman appeared at the Dundee Regional Court yesterday in connection with a kidnapping case that was opened last year February.

Wored Eric Abebe, was kidnapped, assaulted and robbed of R20 000.

All six accused are out on extended bail.

Accused number six was summoned to court and was reminded that not appearing will result in an additional criminal charge.

Magistrate Judge V Moodley warned accused number six, to make sure that he appears on the next court date as he had not previously appeared in court.

The court case was postponed to February 18 where a pretrial conference will be held with a resident prosecutor.
