Go bright or bald and do your bit for CANSA
For those not brave enough to part with their lovely locks, there is always the spray option

It’s that time of year again when supporters show they care by going bright or bald.
The annual CANSA Shavathon will take place this year at the Dundee Boulevard Shopping Centre on March 2 and March 3.
CANSA Shavathon started as a way to show solidarity or support for cancer patients by going bald, as losing one’s hair is a common side effect of cancer therapy.
For those not brave enough to part with their lovely locks, there is always the spray option, where you can have your hair sprayed in a variety of bright colours. You can also stencil your hair, having cute designs sprayed on for the day.
Survivors and their loved ones don’t have to face cancer alone
If you have long hair, you can also donate your ponytail to CANSA, which is then used to make a wig for a cancer patient. For the selfie lovers, there are also selfie boards to snap a photo and share your good deed with your followers.
All money raised from the event is used by CANSA to provide a care and support service to the public and all people affected by cancer.
“Survivors and their loved ones don’t have to face cancer alone; we’re here to support them through every step of their cancer journey. The public support helps us to continue the fight against cancer in South Africa and brings us closer to the challenge of a cancer-free society within our generation,” said CANSA’s Heidi Jansen.
