Three suspects were arrested on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in Ladysmith on Wednesday (February 13).
The suspects, aged from 31 to 38, appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court yesterday (February 18).
The Newcastle Public Order Policing (POP) Unit, Pinetown and Ladysmith Tactical Response Units, and Ladysmith Visible Policing officers made the arrests.

The suspects were found in possession of a rifle, two 9mm pistols and 87 rounds of ammunition.
On the same day as the arrests, the team of law enforcement officers also swooped on the Ladysmith taxi rank, where a large number of people were searched.
