Update: No arrests made for murder of municipal employee

His wife was lucky to survive the ambush as they drove in separate vehicles and she was already at work when news filtered through about the ambush

According to police, no arrests have been made for the murder of Simingaye Oscar Hlatshwayo.

Hlatshwayo (38), who was the Executive Director: Engineering & Infrastructure at Alfred Duma Local Municipality, was gunned down on Thursday, February 7, after dropping his two children at a local school.

His wife was lucky to escape the attack, as they drove in separate vehicles and she was already at work when news filtered through about the ambush.

Hlatshwayo was laid to rest at St Chad’s Missionary Cemetery on Saturday after a lengthy church service.

He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
