Update: Uncle accused of cutting up missing girl to appear in court soon

The case was changed from missing persons to murder and the suspect, who is an uncle of the deceased, was immediately arrested

A suspect will make an appearance in the Ladysmith Regional Court on Thursday (February 28, 2019) with regards to the murder of a child who was initially reported missing in November 2018.

The suspect made his last appearance in court on January 29, 2019, and will appear again on Thursday this week.

Celimpilo Nosbusiso Sibiya (8) went missing on November 6, 2018, at Baldaskraal in Driefontein.

On November 15, 2018, police and Ladysmith K9 Search & Rescue officers made a gruesome discovery. The suspect directed police officers to two pit toilets in Driefontein, where the body parts of eight-year-old Celimpilo were found. She had been cut up in pieces.

The case was changed from missing persons to murder and the suspect, who is an uncle of the deceased, was immediately arrested and charged.
