Tilapia fish found swimming in sewage at Ladysmith kennels

The fish was removed from the 'stinky situation' and put into a nearby river

A Tilapia fish was seen swimming in sewer water at the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) premises on Tuesday (February 26).

Sewage has been flowing for the last three weeks at the kennels.

As a Ladysmith Gazette journalist was leaving the AACL premises, she spotted something moving in the water. League worker Annamarie Koen and the journalist went closer to investigate. There was a flash of silver and they realised that a fish was swimming around.

What a great photo opportunity!
