Two dead, three hurt in head-on crash on the Frere Road

It was a tragic afternoon on the Frere road after two people died in a head-on collision

A tragic scene awaited emergency personnel that attended to the fatal vehicle collision on the R103 near Frere yesterday afternoon, shortly after 4pm.

Two people were pronounced dead on scene when a Toyota Tazz and a truck collided head-on.

Three other passengers in the Tazz were injured, one seriously.

The occupants from the truck were uninjured.

A host of emergency services were on scene and a portion of the R103 between Estcourt and Frere was closed for a short period.
