Stolen vehicles recovered by police close to Ladysmith

1 of the vehicles was stolen in the Osizweni area of Newcastle

An intelligence-driven, multi-disciplinary operation held in the Emanqomfeni area of Weenen on Friday, March 15, turned up two stolen vehicles.

Officers from the Uthukela Cluster SAPS Crime Intelligence Gathering Unit, Ladysmith Vehicle Crime Investigating Unit (VCIU) and Ladysmith Tactical Response Team recovered a Mazda Midge and a Mazda 2.

Both vehicles were parked at an abandoned homestead.

Ladysmith VCIU officers were on hand to check and verify the ownership of the vehicles.

It has been established that one of the two vehicles was stolen in the Osizweni area of Newcastle. Officers are working on establishing the ownership of the other vehicle.

VCIU officers recovered a Mazda 323 in the Tugela Estates area the day before.

The investigation continues.
