Three stolen vehicles discovered in Weenen

Two of the stolen vehicles were recovered at an abandoned homestead

Joining forces, police officers from three units, held a multi-disciplinary operation in Emanqomfeni, Weenen.
Members from the Uthukela Cluster SAPS Crime Intelligence Gathering Unit, Ladysmith Vehicle Crime Investigating Unit and Ladysmith Tactical Response Teams descended in the area on March 15.

Officers made a successful find when two stolen vehicles were recovered at an abandoned homestead. The vehicles are a Mazda Midge and a Mazda 2.

“Officers from the Ladysmith Vehicle Crime Investigating Unit were on hand to check and verify the ownership of the vehicles. It has been established that one of the two vehicles was stolen in the Osizweni area of Newcastle,” explained police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.

The next phase of the investigation involves establishing ownership of the other vehicle.

This recovery followed on the heels of a Mazda 323 being recovered in the Tugela Estates area the day before.
Police have confirmed that investigations are continuing.
