A university in the works for Newcastle?
The mayor of Newcastle has suggested that a university is in the pipeline.

The annual State of the Town Address took place last night with many issues and topics discussed; from water infrastructure, to a new library, to a new university.
The mayor of Newcastle, Cllr Mahlaba has prompted that Newcastle could be home to its very own university.

This comes at a time where Newcastle is seeing a lot of expansion, such as the new airport which is set to officially open next week.
The details surrounding a possible university are still in its infancy, but the Newcastle Advertiser will be sure to follow-up on this.
