A man was shot dead this evening (April 24) while en-route to his home.
It is believed that the man was near Platrand Lodge when his bakkie was stopped along the road by another vehicle.

It is alleged that there was a brief exchange of words before shots were fired at the bakkie. The other vehicle then sped off.
The victim was declared dead at the scene.

Police and forensics combed the scene for evidence before it was cleared.
Police are currently investigating, but no arrests have been made as yet.
