Rusted and leaking roofs and ugly walls are things of the past. The learners returned from the first term holiday rather shocked by the refurbishment, which has been complete.

“A brief visit to my ex-school a few months ago was a real shocker and an eye-opener at what the condition of this once beautiful school has become.

“I am aware that the school has a tight budget. I took a walk around and was amazed at the attitude of these learners; the jolliness that they portrayed.

As if this wasn’t enough, all the educators I met had that fantastic smile and jovial approach,” reminisced Mr Carey.

Riyaad Chutel and Mfundo Mhlongo put up posters on their newly painted notice boards.

Mr Carey would like to challenge other ex-learners to visit the school and dig deep within their hearts to help revive the school. The generous donation was warmly welcomed by the entire school.

“Thank you to the Good Samaritan ex-learner who donated enough paint to improve six classrooms and pay for labour. He has also fixed our leaking roofs. Our deepest gratitude goes out to you,” shared Principal Ms Jordan thankfully.

These grade 10 learners admire the improved look of their classroom.

Other repairs made to the grade 10 block of classrooms included the notice boards, the ceilings as well as the passageway.
