Missing Estcourt teacher found dead in a manhole

The search for a missing woman ends in tragedy

An extensive search for 28-year-old Nomathamsanqa Sinobuhle Ndaba who went missing on April 26 came to a tragic halt yesterday afternoon (April 29).

Colenso Police and a member from tracker Ladysmith Police K9 unit searched the area where her white VW Polo – registration number NE 27629 – had stopped.

Nomathamsanqu Ndaba White Polo later found abandoned in Greytown.

The K9 Unit picked up an odour near a manhole and that was where the lifeless body of Ms Nadba was recovered.

“The manhole contained cabling from either Eskom or Telkom. This manhole was between the Aloe’s Shop and Cornfields turnoff, about six meters from the R103,” said police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi.

The cause of death will be known once the post-mortem results return. A murder case will be filed at the Colenso police station for further investigation.

It is reported that Ms Ndaba was a teacher at Kwadlamini High School in  Kwadlamini/Nthabamphlope and a mother of two.
