No arrests yet for bomb scare at Egerton Primary School

The school has opened a case at Ladysmith police station, which is being investigated

No arrests have been made as yet for the bomb scare at Egerton Primary School recently.

Picture the scene… Parents frantically leaving home or work to pick up their children after hearing the news of a bomb scare at their child’s school.

Egerton staff and management immediately evacuated the learners to Agar Field, and Ladysmith police rushed to the school to comb the premises for explosives. No bomb was found.

Public Safety, local firefighters and other emergency personnel also responded to the scene.

The school has opened a case docket at Ladysmith police station, which is being investigated.

This is the fifth bomb scare to hit Ladysmith, all in the space of about three years. There were two at Ladysmith High School (LHS), one at the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court and one at the Oval Shopping Centre. No arrests have been made in those cases either.
