Riverdale Primary learners collect trash for tokens

Collecting recyclable items means big business for the learners at Riverdale Primary School

Riverdale Primary School’s Girl Guides were invited for another Blue Lagoon Clean-Up this past weekend in Durban. Unfortunately, due to unexpected oil leaks from the harbour, the clean-up had to be postponed.

However, this did not deter the determined guiders, who used the opportunity to collect bottles to go towards their Litter4Tokens project. The project entails collecting recyclable items to trade for a token worth R5.

For each bag of items, one would receive a token, which eventually can be used to purchase various goodies in the token shop in Rensburgdrift.
