There were six road fatalities over the past long weekend in the Ladysmith region.

On Friday (June 14), a taxi crashed into a tree off the R600 in Winterton, claiming four lives. Two people died at the scene and two later in hospital.

Two lives were lost in another crash on the same day, on the N3 close to the Tugela Plaza.
