Speedsters chase the podium finish

Congratulations to the winners and top finishers, for their deft and masterful displays of speed and precision.

With big events on the horizon, the focus was on local motorsport on Saturday.

Results from the exhilarating race meeting, which all played out on the circuit at Newcastle Oval Raceway, are as follows:

Mini flexis:

Charlie Rothman won the division, ahead of Christiaan Rothman.

Rookies:

Stephan van der Merwe added another divisional win to his name.

1600s:

Jean de Necker claimed the chequered flag, ahead of Theoniel Bornman and Melanie van Rooyen.

1660s:

Charlie Rothman made it a double, beating Henry Hall and Wikie Bezuidenhout to second and third respectively.

2.1-litres:

Pieter Bester muscled his way to a first place finish, with Willie Erasmus second and Cedric Stowe third.

Hot rods:

Hendrik van der Merwe also added to the trophy case, edging out Pieter Bester Jnr and Mikey Maloney.

Tin tops:

It was Henk van Rooyen’s night, as he sent Marcus Beeslaar and Charles Klopper to the line.

V8s:

Flip Gericke proved the top powerhouse, with Charlie Rothman second and taking his third podium finish of the night.
