#SiegeofLadysmith2020 – Road to water pump station still blocked

Simply put, the plant can only operate with the support of the community living close to it

This is the state of the road to the pump station as of now… debris, holes and rocks have been used to bar access to the plant.

One of the key reasons nothing can be done without an agreement with protesters is not just the man-made roadblocks, but the terrain surrounding the plant.

The road winds through a valley and at the bottom of the valley is the pump station, surrounded by homesteads belonging to supporters of the protesters.

In simple layman’s terms, a position that cannot be defended, no matter how well it is fenced or how many police you deploy.

The plant can only operate with the support of the community living close to it. As long as many of them are aligned with the protesters, the plant cannot be opened.
