Gift of the Givers provide a vital need

Two 5000 litre jojo tanks, which included the basic plumbing and concrete slab were installed at the school

The learners and staff of Forderville Primary School often fall victim to water interruptions. This then leads to learners missing out on days at schools during cases of prolonged water interruptions.

To help ease this, the Gift of the Givers Estcourt branch jumped in to help.

Two 5000 litre jojo tanks, which included the basic plumbing and concrete slab were installed at the school.

The principal Mrs Narainsamy, staff and members of the School Governing Body (SGB) met Jaaved Khan from the local Gift of the Givers branch to officially receive the water tankers on March 17.

Explaining why the humanitarian organisation decided to help the school, Mr Khan explained: “The Forderville area of Estcourt is well- known for water cuts, due to aging infrastructure. The residents can sometimes go days without any water. Forderville Primary School is in the centre of this and when there is no water, the school is forced to close and students lose out on this time.”

The donation was warmly welcomed by the school delegation.

“The SGB, principal and staff would like to thank Jaaved and the Gift of the Givers for the kind generosity in donating the jojo tanks,” said Mrs Narainsamy.
