Great team spirit among Sarel Matrics

Positive message from Sarel's headboy and headgirl

A message from Sarel Cilliers’ head boy and head girl, Asanda Ngcobo and Nicole Johnson:

The coronavirus caught us all off guard. We never thought that something so terrible could happen in the last year of our schooling career.

There were days when we were so tired of school, but after this pandemic, we truly value school. We really miss our friends, teachers and extramural activities.

We tried studying at home, but we have realised that teachers do make a big difference in our lives. “As head girl, I have learnt to appreciate little things like smiling at someone without having to look straight at a face mask. Life is a blessing and one must always cherish every moment.”

As head boy, together with the prefect body and teachers, we will make sure that our blue team follows the rules and regulations placed by the government in order to prevent the spread of the virus.

As the class of 2020, we are glad that schools have re-opened.” We are all under pressure, teachers included, but we will never surrender. We wish all the matrics of the Umzinyathi District a blessed and safe matric journey. Together, we shall conquer this virus.”
