ESTCOURT KZN: Joint effort results in speedy arrests

Five armed men held up farmers and staff in Middelrus (on the R103 between Estcourt and Mooi River) this morning (April 23).

Fortunately no one was injured however, the suspects fled with cash, firearms, jewellery and electronic equipment.

Within hours, a description of the suspect’s vehicles was circulated.

Through a joint effort comprising of farmers, security companies, neighbours and police, eight suspects were arrested.

In addition, two vehicles and the stolen property were recovered.

Police have not yet released an official statement regarding this matter.
