ESTCOURT KZN: Amended date for Shepstone Place fraud case

Mrs Potgieter was charged after she was accused in 2019 of misappropriating funds in the region of R1.2 million

Shepstone Place Home for the Aged committee members have been informed of a change of date to return to court to set the ball rolling for the fraud case against former Home Administrator Debbie Potgieter.

Originally, current Home Administrator Roline Vaughan and Mrs Potgieter met at the Estcourt Regional Court on June 14 where a date was to be decided for the criminal case to proceed.

At the time, the matter was postponed to July 2 because Mrs Potgieter’s lawyer was not present.

This morning (June 26), Mrs Vaughan informed the Estcourt News that they have been asked to return to court on June 29 (instead of July 2).

“I don’t know why they have brought the date forward,” commented Mrs Vaughan.

She has assured the community that they will be kept informed of the developments due to the strict Covid-19 protocols at court, which prohibits the public from attending.

Mrs Potgieter was charged after she was accused in 2019 of misappropriating funds in the region of R1.2 million.
