Ladysmith KZN: Police make arrests as they wage war on looting

Bakkies were stopped all over town, especially in Acaciavale

Ladysmith police are taking on looting head-on after appliances were stolen from Defy in the Pieters Industrial Area yesterday (July 13).

Numerous bakkies were stopped all over town, especially in Acaciavale, with high-speed chases ensuing in the residential areas.

Many arrests have been made by police, and thousands of rands worth of appliances such as stoves and fridges have been recovered.

The back of the police station has been filled up with hundreds of appliances and impounded bakkies.
