A full contingent of police officers descended on the home of Mayor Vincent Madlala in Ezakheni E-Section today (July 30). 

The officers arrived early this morning and were seen entering the mayor’s residence. 

Shortly after 9am, the mayor was led out of his house in handcuffs by two heavily-armed police officers and put into the back of a police van.

A large gathering of private security was also seen outside the mayor’s home. 

At this stage, it is not known what the mayor was arrested for.
