Al-Imdaad Foundation addressing needs of flood affected areas

The Al-Imdaad Foundation is working in close co-ordination with eThekwini Disaster Management and other NGOs

Al-Imdaad Foundation water tankers have been servicing the needs of flood-affected communities in the greater Durban area since April 12.

The foundation has also been delivering five-litre bottled water in affected areas and delivering food aid assistance, as well as blankets, mattresses and hygiene kits for displaced families. During the recent flooding in KwaZulu-Natal, extensive infrastructure damages resulted in water shortages across various areas. As part of its ongoing response, the Al-Imdaad Foundation has been delivering daily water supplies in affected communities to address this critical need.

Al-Imdaad Foundation flood relief interventions are being provided to displaced families in various areas throughout the province.

On April 26, the tankers were dispatched to Hammarsdale, where many residents had been without water supply for almost two weeks.

Distributions of five-litre bottled water have also been conducted in many of these areas, and JoJo tank installations have taken place in strategic locations.

Food hampers

In addition, food aid, blankets, hygiene kits and mattresses have been delivered to displaced communities at various community halls across affected areas.
