The uMkhonto weSizwe party have been running different programs in various communities, with the recent one that took place at Hluma Primary school, where the volunteers of the party took an initiative to paint all the classrooms and tile the floor of the principal’s office.

Sibusiso Maduma who is one of MK’s volunteers said that ‘’after the project we did at Shoba High School, where we fixed about 95 windows and cut the grass, I was then approached by one of the SGB member of Hluma Primary School asking if we can also lend a helping hand at the school; I believe they approached us because of the work we do in communities, trying to help where we can, especially children since they are our future leaders, we then agreed to do the work as the children we closed for the first term. The volunteers went to the school and proceeded with the painting of the school and on Tuesday when the schools opened, the learners, teachers and the whole stuff were so grateful for the work we have done.’’

King Shenge also commented and said ‘’the classrooms were not in a good condition as we also witnessed the moist inside the rooms that caused the walls to decay a bit, we saw that this is not good for the children as they might get ill, we stood up and assisted where we could.’’

Maduma thanks all the people who lend out a helping hand for these projects to be a success, he thanks Honourable Lady Zama, the leadership of MK in the region and sub-region, all the MK volunteers and Sihle Xaba for organising transportation.

The members explained that there are many projects set to take place this year in the whole Zululand District.
