Rotary Club donates to old age homes in Rorkes Drift and Endumeni

A Dundee farmer donates over 2,300 cabbages to help feed hundreds through local centres and community organisations.

A Dundee farmer has made a healthy contribution to local feeding schemes by donating thousands of cabbages to support vulnerable communities.

Over several months, Mynardt Sadie donated approximately 2,300 large cabbages to the Rotary Club of Dundee for distribution.

Rotarian Doug Gordon coordinated deliveries to some organisations, including ABH and SAVF in Glencoe, SAVF homes in Colley Street, the Melusi Christian Centre, the Dundee Adult Centre, the Siphuthando Care Centre, and the Emseni Old Age Home in Rorke’s Drift.

Together, these centres provide daily meals to around 300 people, many of whom rely on such support.

The initiative highlights the impact of local partnerships, with the farming community and service organisations working together to address food insecurity in the area.
