Dundee learner publishes second book highlighting global issues

A Dundee learner publishes his second book, exploring global issues and giving voice to unheard perspectives.

A 17-year-old Dundee learner is gaining recognition in the literary world by using his writing to highlight global issues.

Young author tackles complex international subject

Zaydaan Ebrahim, a learner at Dundee High School and former Dannhauser Primary pupil, has released his second book, Palestine: The Land of Resistance.

The book explores the history, struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people, offering readers a thought-provoking perspective on a long-standing international conflict.

Ebrahim said his passion for writing is driven by a desire to inform and inspire.

“I want my writing to make people think about what is happening in the world and understand different perspectives,” he said. “This book is about giving a voice to those who are often unheard.”

His latest publication marks a shift from fiction to a more educational and reflective style, demonstrating his development as a writer.

Ebrahim made his debut with Shadows of the Throne: A Royal Murder Mystery, a fictional novel that received positive feedback for its suspenseful storytelling.

With his second book, he shows versatility by engaging with a complex and sensitive topic at a young age.

Despite the demands of school, Ebrahim continues to pursue his passion for writing, balancing his academic responsibilities with his creative work.

He hopes to produce more books that not only entertain but also educate and encourage critical thinking.
