Former pupil ‘gives back’ to her school
Pinky urges businesses and individuals to show any kind of support to schools in their communities, as they will be showing love to future generations.
Lakeside Park Primary School had a pleasant visit on Wednesday last week when former pupil Pinky Mack Mangistu made a donation of R10,000 to the school.
Pinky was accompanied by her husband and three children when she made the kind gesture. The Grade 7 learners were seated on the school grounds to listen to what Pinky had to say. She told them that she was also a learner at the school years ago, and she thanked the principal and educators for how she turned out in life.
Pinky shared her struggles while growing up and the experiences she had to go through as a child. She mentioned that she received love and support from her teachers, rather than at home. She spoke of how she was bullied and how that turned her into a bully, as she wanted to fight for herself. She motivated the learners to use social media wisely. Thanks were sent to the principal, Mr Kirsten, for giving her proper guidance when she was still at school.

Mr Kirsten, in turn, thanked Pinky for the wonderful gesture and praised the spirit of giving back. He said that people should always ‘give back’ to their communities to help those in need.
