The Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) has many cats, kittens, dogs and puppies in desperate need of a good, loving home.
Please visit the kennels to pick up your new best friend today. Please also remember that owning an animal is a big responsibility. They need as much love, care and attention as children do.
Some animals have gone missing after the big storm on Saturday. We are looking for a white wire-haired male dog named Magic. He went missing near Francis Road. We are also looking for a male brindle Boxer who went missing in Rose Park. There is also a long-haired white cat named Vanilla who went missing from Battery Road. Please contact the league if you have any information on these animals’ whereabouts. You can reach the league on 076-151-1784.
The league has found a dog presumed to have gone missing during the storm. He is a black and white Poodle cross who was found in Sparks Road. Please collect him if he belongs to you. 11 dogs have been claimed already after Saturday’s storm.
The AACL is happy to report that there have been nine adoptions this week. This is great news indeed!
However, there is bad news in the fact that some people still think it’s okay to chain up their dogs in the heat without any water. This is not acceptable and if you are found to be doing this, you will be fined and your dogs will be removed. Please be responsible and think!
The league is desperately looking for cat litter, as well as dry and wet cat and dog food. Please find it in your hearts to help us and all the little animals who live at the kennels. Thanks this week go to TFS and Pierre Massyn. Thank you for your continued support!
We would like to remind the public that we do not deal with strays. This is the job of the municipality. If the municipality does not start doing its job, the league could be in serious danger of closing down.
