The Democratic Alliance (DA) is deeply saddened by and condemns the vicious farm attack on Friday. The DA extends its sincere sympathies to her family. This attack is symptomatic of the lawlessness that has become the norm under the Zuma ANC administration. The DA condemns the lack of SAPS response from Elandslaagte police station, which is a few minutes away from the attack scene but who were beaten to the scene of the attack by the Ladysmith K9 unit followed by a SecureSA member. The DA calls upon the Minister of Police to institute an investigation into the breakdown in service delivery at Elandslaagte police station. He must ensure that those who failed to protect the victim are disciplined and fired.
