Community asks Mayor to intervene at Hospital

Cllr Afzul Rehman addresses speed bumps, Newcastle Provincial Hospital woes, housing in 'Indian' areas, and possible CCTV installation in Fairleigh.

Mr Mayor, please put up speed bumps at both corners of Tielmanroos and FW Beyers avenue. This piece became a race track every day.

As I said previously, these requests must be made to the ward councillor.

Dear Mayor I read that your guys are busy to put up houses in osizweni and fairleigh area once again nothing happening in the Indian area. We don’t want to hear the story of its in the pipeline nothing so far why ???

Unfortunately housing projects take a long time to b planned and applied for. We have applied for community residential units and other housing projects. Remember, we don’t have Indian areas anymore so make sure are on the housing waiting list.

Mayor, STEP IN AT PROV HOSP! I saw the pc in Advertizer pg.2. I agree! U wait, and long. I saw if u come by ambulance they atend to u first. Thats wrong. I took myself of my husband medical, to high. BUT I put my self back, afta the same wait, Dr not there, ect. IT IS BAD, OR IS IT THAT WE WHITE? CC.

The hospital does not fall under my jurisdiction. I will however contact the Department of Health to see what exactly is going on. I didn’t realise we still judge people on colour?

NN mayor I am asking you to put up cctv cameras at the flats in fairleigh.Drug dealers are killing our children with a drug named Rock.Fairleigh is like the cape flats now because the drugs is available 24/7.Please help this is no joke.Unknown

We are busy with our next roll out phase, I will refer it to the department for consideration.
