Editor – Why do the residents of this town have to suffer with no water?
It is an endless worry as to when residents will wake up to dry taps or terribly low water pressure and suddenly have to make a plan when it comes to bathing, making breakfast and getting the children off to school in time.
Surely after so long, the ‘powers that be’ should have come up with some sort of a solution, albeit a temporary one, just to get over the rough patches when there is an “Eskom power outage” or “routine maintenance to be carried out”.
We’ve all heard the stories and frankly, we’re just a bit sick of them now. Do they sound believable to you?
How many times can they trot out the same old excuses and expected us to buy into their baloney?
Here’s hoping that a solution, and a permanent one at that, is on the horizon.
The crux is that infrastructure must be maintained. The current regime doesn’t seem to understand that!
Don’t wait until there is a problem, keep equipment in top nick so that there are no problems. Is that too difficult to understand?
Also stop building more and more houses without the infrastructure needed to support them. Another very important question is: Why is water going to Roosboom when it is not paid for?
Instead of community free pipes with low water pressure, start delivering water to the houses and get people paying! But how can you ask for money when the service you have is so bad?
