They need our guidance on how to deal with emotions, how to problem solve and how to find calmness.  Here are some tips to help support your child’s mental health:

1. Love – Be there for your child and show care and love.
2. Behaviour – Keep an eye out for any change of behaviour.
3. Support – Regularly support, encourage and praise your child.
4. Rest time – Help manage your child’s stress by fitting in some rest time.
5. Be proud – Tell your child you are proud of them.
6. Help – Don’t be afraid to seek help from professionals.
7. Listen – Make sure you take time to listen to what your child has to say.
8. Educate – Educate yourself about mental problems.
9. Conversation – Encourage your child to engage in conversation.
10. Environment – Provide a safe and positive environment for your child where they can thrive.
