Vryheid Rugby Club – Rovers seize victory in Durban
According to Head Coach, Rich Verster, it was an eye-opening experience to see the conditioning of the players on the Rovers' team, who have been in training since October 2014 for their impending Community Cup Tournament.
THE much anticipated match between Vryheid Rugby Club and Community Cup contenders, the Jonsson College Rovers, took place in Durban on Saturday.
According to Head Coach, Rich Verster, it was an eye-opening experience to see the conditioning of the players on the Rovers’ team, who have been in training since October 2014 for their impending Community Cup Tournament.
While the Rovers side, who are arguably one of the best Premier Division teams in Natal, took victory on the day with a convincing 49 – 5 win over Vryheid Rugby Club, much can be said for the effort and heart put in by our men in maroon. According to Verster, the team took a lot of positive aspects from the experience. Some of the Vryheid players allegedly impressed scouts who attended the match.
