Outstanding scores as golfers support Pre-Primary School

Dundee is in for a boost when the Club hosts the KZN Ladies Interclub Championships from October 25-29.

This past Saturday saw Dundee Pre-Primary School hold their annual fundraising golf day at the Dundee Golf Club.
Thanks to the organisers and kind sponsors, it was wonderful to see almost 70 golfers turning up in support of Dundee Pre-Primary. Besides the funds raised from the player’s entry fees and the raffle tickets sold, the organisers were delighted to see Richard Catlett win the raffle, a wheelbarrow full of liquid refreshments, only to auction off his prize to collect a further R2 000 for the school.
The competition format was a 4 BBBS with a scramble drive which saw an outstanding score of 56 points, scored by John Zulu and Hlengiwe Hlongwane to claim first prize and to each walk away with a bar fridge.
Second place went to S Mkhalphi and W Mhlungu after managing to beat the brother and sister combination of Pierre and Elaine Booysen on a count out as both pairings scored 50 points. The fourth place prize went to the local regular pairing of Mandla Mthethwa and partner Clement Chawanda who scored 49 points.

The novelty prize for nearest the pin on the 4th hole was won by a past member and golf captain of the club, Greg Connolly, while W Mhlungu won the prize for nearest the pin on the 12th hole. The prize for the men’s longest drive went to Wonderboy Langa with Debbie Catlett picking up the ladies prize.
Great news for Friday afternoon golfers, and thanks to a generous sponsorship from Richard Catlett, the 10 Hole Meat Competition will be reinstated from this coming Friday, September 22 and the club hopes to see a good turnout in support of this competition. The format for Saturday’s Club Competition will be an I.P.S. event, and players are requested to make their bookings with The Pro Shop.
