Rand Water today in a statement commended the swift action taken by the South African Police Service (SAPS)
in investigating the brutal killing of Rand Water executive, Mr. Teboho Joala and his personal protector, Mr. Sifiso Shange at a back-to-school event  held at Zakariyya Park on 29 January 2024.

The water utility welcomed the arrest of individuals suspected of the killing of Mr Joala and Mr Shange during the event where school shoes and uniforms  to the value of R470 000.were handed to 1 670 learners from eight schools

Rand Water said it will continue to observe the proceedings and developments in this case, hoping that the
perpetrators will be prosecuted successfully.
