Active crime scene: Road closed

Avoid the R26 between Tweeling and Reitz and follow alternative routes till further notice.

The R26 between Tweeling and Rietz is currently closed due to an active crime scene following a shootout incident.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area  and make use of alternative routes:

  • Motorists traveling from Bethlehem and Qwaqwa must utilize the Petrus Steyn road to reach their destination.
  • Motorists from Gauteng to Qwaqwa and Bethlehem must utilize the N3 to reach their destination.

Law enforcement officials are on scene conducting investigations. The road will remain closed until further notice to ensure public safety and allow emergency personnel to complete their work.

Road users are requested to cooperate with authorities and exercise caution when using alternative routes.
