DVD of the week: Sleeping with other people
I rate this film 6½/10. It was hilarious and fun to watch and will even entertain a more romantic side of you.
In this romantic comedy, Jake (Jason Sudeikis) and Lainey (Alison Brie) run into each other twelve years after they had their first one-night stand with each other in college.
Both of them now sex-addicts, decide to have a platonic relationship with each other in order not to mess it up with physical complications.
The two become best friends while trying to sort out their own separate relationship problems – Lainey being obsessed with a married man, and Jason sleeping with every girl he comes across.
The two help each other to ultimately change their ways and try to get back into the dating scene, but while this is all taking place on the surface, down below they are starting to develop feelings for one another. People even start mistaking them for a married couple, but when they realise that their attraction for each other is growing even stronger, they decide to take their separate ways in order not to break the concrete friendship they have built.
The film starts out to be more funny than romantic and will definitely get you laughing… a lot!
But besides the inappropriate sex jokes and dirty-minded characters, there is a line of pure romance throughout the film that might surprise you at the end.
